How it Works

Taking your journey to overcoming self-doubt.

Guided Self-Mentorship helps you uncover new ways of seeing and gives you the tools to create relief and lasting change — sometimes in just one session. You’ll walk away with a clear sense of confidence and the ability to keep shaping a life that feels good to live.

I noticed something over and over again — in myself, and in the people I worked with. We try everything: therapy, books, retreats, podcasts. Sometimes they help for a while, but we end up making slow progress or just feeling stuck all together.

And yet, I also saw clients who found relief from struggles they’d carried for years, sometimes in just a matter of weeks.

That made me ask: what’s happening when change actually sticks? I started to measure progress and ask for feedback from clients before and after every session so I could learn what works and what doesn’t.

Here’s what I realized:

  • One-hour sessions are too short. They give just enough time to talk about what’s wrong, but not enough space to actually work through what’s happening.

  • Without a clear structure, the process becomes open ended and directionless.

  • Most importantly, when we rely on the therapist as the “expert”, people don’t get opportunity to discover the wisdom and trust within themselves, and to develop the ability to confidently find their way.

Using these understandings, I started to practice differently and as it turns out, with the right focus, a clear set of tools, and enough time and effort, people can start to change their lives dramatically. And when those tools are placed directly in their own hands, they not only work better — they keep working long after the sessions are done.

That’s why I created Guided Self-Mentorship, and here’s what it looks like.

The Process

  • You’ll receive a short introduction to Guided Self-Mentorship with a few questions. Nothing overwhelming—just enough to help us both understand what, if anything, you’re wanting help with. You’ll also do a quick check-in to rate how you’re feeling. We’ll take these before-and-after measurements in each session, not just to track progress, but to make sure what we’re doing is actually useful to you.

And here’s something weird—unlike traditional therapy, if things aren’t working, it’s probably because I’m missing the mark and I’m actually accountable. This process is meant to be effective, and if it’s not clicking, I want to know so we can adjust. That said, this only works if you’re doing what’s required. If you’re skipping the between-session practice, not applying what we cover, or not giving feedback, this method will never work! If you’re putting in the effort and something still isn’t landing, though? That’s my cue to adjust, and the great news is, we can. You deserve something that actually helps, and this is how we work as a team to make sure this isn’t just another thing that didn’t work for you.

  • The first hour is all about deeply understanding the root of what’s bothering you. I truly believe you have the answers. You’re the expert on your own experience, and my job is to bring warmth, understanding, and curiosity to help that wisdom rise to the surface. Through thoughtful and intentional questions, you’ll be teaching us both about what’s really going on (honestly, my clients teach me just as much as I teach them). This is a process of discovery and understanding—making sure we’re focused on what actually matters to you at the core before we start taking action.

In the second hour, you’ll learn the Guided Self-Mentorship Process; a set of tools that you can use in any moment of challenge to find your way through. These aren’t vague concepts or abstract ideas—they’re concrete ways to help you understand your patterns, make decisions with confidence, and stop running in mental circles. You’ll walk away with real strategies that actually make sense for your life.

  • Knowing comes from being told. Truly understanding comes from doing. That’s why you’ll get a 7-Day Path—that same Guided Self-Mentorship process designed as a daily exercise to take a challenging moment and turn it into a step toward a life you’ll love. You’ll be practicing real, tangible ways to make your life better as things happen, giving you the confidence that you can use these skills on your own. The daily practice will take 20-30 minutes.

Think about learning to drive. If all you ever did was read the manual, watch a few videos, and hear people explain it to you, how confident would you feel behind the wheel? You might know what to do, but would you trust yourself to do it?

The 7-Day Path puts you in the driver’s seat—not just so you can learn, but so you can experience what it feels like to actually steer your life in a new direction. This is where the real work happens. This is where the magic is. And much like learning to drive, the more you practice, the less effort it takes. As people practice, the exercise starts to take closer to 5-minutes. Some clients have even reported that with practice, this process is now automatic. How neat!

  • The second session is about taking what you’ve learned and understanding it more deeply. You’ll check in on how things went between sessions, fine-tune what’s working, and adjust anything that isn’t. We’ll troubleshoot any tough situations. My favorite part - we’ll help talk through what you learned during your experience so you leave knowing that you can continue to use these tools to find peace.

By the end of this session, you won’t just have a set of tools—you’ll have firsthand experience applying them across different challenges. The goal isn’t just for you to “get it”—it’s for you to trust yourself to use it. This is where confidence is built. This is where you realize that you have everything you need to move forward confidently.

You’ll graduate with the choice for ongoing support should you so choose.

  • Guided Self-Mentorship is designed to be the last kind of guidance you’ll ever need. You’ll have the tools to mentor yourself, to guide your own way, and to trust that you don’t need someone else’s answers—you can find your own. The goal isn’t to achieve some mythical, problem-free life. It’s to know, deep down, that no matter what happens, you have the ability to navigate it well.

But let’s be real, everyone gets stuck sometimes (myself included). That’s not failure—it’s just life. And when that happens, you’re always welcome to return for a one-hour quick session anytime you need a little clarity, a refresher, or just some support in applying what you’ve learned. Self-trust doesn’t mean you never need help—it just means you get to decide when and how to ask for it.

If you graduate and I hear from you again, I’ll be happy to see and learn together again. Strangely, if you graduate and I don’t hear from you again, I’ll also be happy knowing that you’re doing well.

A view of someone transforming their life.

What You’ll Walk Away With

It might sound surprising that this process happens in just two sessions over two weeks. But this isn’t about rushing or promising an instant cure — it’s about creating the right conditions for change.

In a typical therapy session, you might spend most of the time talking and only a few minutes practicing new skills. Here, the structure is different: we spend extended time together so you can really learn the tools, and then you practice them every single day between sessions. That daily repetition compounds. By the time we meet again, you’ve already been living the change, not just talking about it.

That’s why people often notice meaningful progress so quickly. Not because it’s a quick fix, but because the tools are in your hands, and you’re using them where life actually happens. And once you see for yourself that they work, you’ll have both the confidence and the proof to keep using them. That creates a kind of snowball effect — small daily changes building momentum — carrying your life further in the direction you actually want to go.
